ODDS AND ENDS #4
(bits and pieces)

Here's another section on a variety of subjects that have been a part of Amateur Radio over the years. I find it hard to believe that I have been licensed and had the same call for 50 years, but time marches on. Here are a few items that may bring back memories.

HAMFEST ITEMS

I can remember it being at the Downtowner, at the Civic
Center, the Hassin Temple, and the last one I attended
was at The Potter Community Center. The Albany Club always did a great job hosting.

1978 AARA PROGRAM
If a program was needed, there was always the ARRL's
library of 16mm films that covered a wide range of amateur
radio happenings. This is a TR clipping of a 1978 notice of
a meeting of our club at the local library meeting room.
Probably some don't even know who Arthur or Barry were.
Actually we met at 8:07pm (easy to remember)

Back in the late 70's the FCC required each club repeater to be assigned a repeater call sign. Here's what the Americus repeater used to be when that was in effect.

May 2005
Did you miss helping put up the club's tower at the Red
Cross office? Here's when it was "erected"....and some
shots of the "erectors" There's a lot of 5's there in
that cement!

What? No Santa Claus? Impossible..here's proof
with Lani W4VIR sitting in his lap. Buddy K4BDY arranged
this meeting.

Digging back in the dusty files for a QSL printed by Gammage Print Shop from 50 years ago. And who said that slogan for Americus was new?
